I am happy to announce that the Rockland City Council has voted in favor of our project to establish Rockland's very first community garden!
They have offered us a plot of land in the South-West corner of the Alain Potvin Park which is an ideal location for our project. This park is already well loved by the community, is in a central part of our town and is peacefully overlooking the water reserve basin which creates a beautiful scenic view for those who will participate at the garden.
I want to congratulate our team who have been working hard at bringing this project to life, I am very proud of this accomplishment and look forward to welcoming more volunteers to our team as we move into the next phase.
I also want to thank the city's administration team and City Council that have been a solid ally throughout this process and so welcoming of our project. Their guidance and support has helped this project be successful.
Now that we have our plot of land secured we are entering the next phase of the project which is securing funds and resources to establish the various core components of the garden.
We are currently finalizing our planning and will be in touch with those who signed up through our survey and shared their interest in participating shortly.
