Volunteering with the community garden is a great opportunity to enhance and develop personal skills, socialize and meet new people, give back to your community, and complete student volunteer hours.

Volunteering opportunities:

  • Executive Committee Roles: responsible for overseeing the operations of the garden and making decisions.

  • Support roles: grounds maintenance, labor and construction, communications, events planning, gardening mentoring, harvesting, etc.

Treasure - Executive Committee Role


  • 5 hrs/month dedicated to your role

  • Track all incoming and outgoing money transactions in spreadsheet

  • Organize receipts and invoices weekly

  • Process & collect fees, manage funds, and pay bills

  • Researching and applying for grants & organize fundraising events

  • Create budgets & financial reports

  • Approve expenses

  • Establish fees for memberships


Social media & website manager - Support Role


  • 5 hrs/month dedicated to your role

  • Develop and implement social media platforms' content strategies

  • Create engaging posts to promote the garden's activities and share important information

  • Engage with the community through Facebook and Instagram

  • Edit and update website content as needed
